Motherboard: ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming GPU: Radeon R9 290 RAM: 16GB 2400-DDR4 I changed my CPU from FX-8320 to i5-6600 recently. In most games it’s running better, but in Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes with my older CPU I was hitting about 40fps at max settings, whereas now with the new i5 I’m only around 20. What could be causing this drop?

The CPU isn’t a major upgrade—just the i5 is a bit better. Are your temperatures high during games? That might mean it’s throttling.
