My computer—a Ryzen 1400 processor, an RX 580 with 8GB of VRAM, and 8GB of DDR4 RAM at a speed of 2400 MHz—doesn't seem capable of running Minecraft with demanding visual settings. While I can smoothly play games such as Metro Exodus, Far Cry 5, and War Thunder at their highest configurations, Minecraft only manages a consistent 40-50 frames per second. I've ensured all drivers are current, the PC is only three months old and all components were purchased brand new from reputable manufacturers, and Java is running the latest version. What might be causing this discrepancy?

Have you attempted to remove and reinstall your graphics card drivers? If Minecraft is the only game experiencing this problem, it may be helpful to try reinstalling Minecraft itself. Is your motherboard running the most recent BIOS version?

Reduce the visual distance to maximum, as this can overwhelm computers running Minecraft. You can also boost Java memory allocation by searching online – you’ll require a 64-bit version of Java, and allocating at least 4 or 6 gigabytes is recommended. The default setting is typically insufficient.

I’ve confirmed that all driver software is current, and I even attempted to reinstall the newest versions. Minecraft has been reinstalled on multiple version iterations, and I regularly check for updates weekly. Furthermore, my BIOS is also the most recent version available.

The rendering distance is set to a reduced value, and I allocated 8 gigabytes of memory. A notable discovery was that Minecraft utilizes only a single processor core, and AMD processors generally perform less effectively than Intel processors when considering processing power on a solitary core. Consequently, this single-core performance might be contributing to the issue.
