This world is widely recognized. It consistently showed up on Minecraft's main menu, appearing as a blurred, slowly spinning title screen. It debuted in 2011 for Minecraft Beta 1.8 and remained active for many years until it was updated in 1.13 and replaced thereafter. Until recently, the original seed remained unknown. Today, it has been discovered. The seed was uncovered on July 18, 2020, around 5:45 AM UTC. It corresponds to version Beta 1.7.3 with coordinates X=61.48, Y=75, Z=-68.73. Two valid seeds were identified: 2151901553968352745 and 8091867987493326313.

The initiative began on June 14, 2020. Tomlacko gathered extensive information about the environment, its world settings (including version, axis alignment, and cloud-based Z values), and posted his research on SalC1's Discord. A related Discord community, Minecraft@Home, was established to support this effort. Within under 24 hours of launching the panorama tool, a volunteer from Minecraft@Home located the seed. This process required about 93 days of computation totaling 54.5 exaFLOPs in just 24 hours.

Another ongoing endeavor is locating the tallest cactus, with a 22-block specimen currently identified. Interested participants can join Minecraft@Home at https://minecraftathome.com/ and engage via Discord at https://discord.gg/xVFh9bp to contribute further.

Recognition goes to the core contributors in this achievement: Earthcomputer, Cortex, Neil (biome and terrain code), DutChen18 (seed discovery), PseudoGravity (color reversal and biome data), Philipp_DE (hosting and screenshotting), MC, Tomlacko (project launch and coordination), and many others who supported the effort.

For a visual overview, watch SalC1's presentation: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClY084m...LlOfgizjow. The seed reveal is also available on Earthcomputer's channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=caLCZNLPgrM.

Same here, though it might fit somewhere else.

It seems the game defaults to a specific starting world. I noticed this consistently after installing it twice, as I didn’t initially have the chance to adjust the seed setting.

Absolutely, I recall that point clearly. The new approach makes it unavoidable.

I recall experiencing the world extensively in the past. Classic sentiment of nostalgia.
