I tried playing Minecraft but the game keeps dropping to low frame rates on my RX 580 8 GB with Optifine installed. It runs smoothly at 60 fps on a GTX 750 Ti 4 GB. How can I fix this issue? Thank you!

Have you attempted adjusting the RAM capacity to a larger value? The software typically operates with a default limit of 512M, but consider modifying it to something such as 2048M.

I'm facing the same problem too. My system has a 1080 ti with 32 gb of RAM, but it experiences strange frame drops when Optimize is turned on.

Exactly, that is the precise quantity of memory I set aside.

Could it be the specific Optifine version you're using? It looks like there might be a connection. The OP might want to test without it installed first.

I'm using the newest Optifine version. Playing without it made things worse.

Sure, I can provide the version details of the game you're playing and OptiFine. You mentioned you recently received a 580, so I'll note that. Also, let me know if you'd like information about how it behaves on an older version.

I've been experiencing the same problem. After adjusting the settings, I noticed VSync remained active. Turning it off improved performance significantly, though FPS fluctuations persist. It's not yet affecting gameplay.
