Minecraft on used Macbook Air?
Hey everyone, next year I’m planning to switch to a real computer for school instead of my Chromebook. It’s really fast and lasts a long time on battery. I’m disappointed I can’t use it anymore. That’s why I’m considering a used 13-inch MacBook Air from 2010 for around $180 to $250 on eBay. I’d also like to play Minecraft outside of class. How would it perform at maximum settings? It has an Intel graphics card, 128 GB SSD, 2 GB RAM, and a built-in display.
poor performance on my old machine (a 1.2 GHz Celeron with 2 GB RAM, wow). it was tough to hit 40 frames per second even at low settings.
You can smoothly run it with minimal configurations, achieving around 60-100 FPS during PvP. At full performance it drops to roughly 20 FPS. The Haswell chip significantly boosted GPU performance compared to previous generations. I also used a dual-core 2nd generation processor, which only marginally improved Minecraft speed but was limited by its age and older software support. TL;DR: Avoid serious games or competitive play—stick to light activities at low settings.
2 gigabytes of RAM + Intel HD graphics + maximum settings on the mainboard = failure
