Minecraft Mods Question
You could look into downloading mods that are less demanding on your CPU. Your current setup with 16gb RAM, an RTX 2060, and an i5-3550 should handle the performance you're seeing. If you notice significant drops in frame rate, consider installing lighter mods to avoid stressing your system further.
Examine the contents of the FTB lite pack, it's crafted to be lightweight.
Before I stare, that CPU is a massive bottleneck. Not only is it an i5, but it's a third-generation i5. For mods, you can always use Optifine. Mods that alter the game's appearance will lower your FPS. I suggest mods that introduce new mobs, but avoid changes to looks, biomes, etc.
This gives you a good idea, and it looks like I’m likely between builds—I’m thinking about getting a R5 2600X or a Zen 2 chip this summer. That’s solid guidance; you might also manage with texture packs that only change the surface appearance without extra work.
I'm not sure about that, I was just thinking about whether any mods could affect my CPU.
Noticing that Forge is only released at version 1.13.2 currently, making Minecraft 1.14.1 modding quite challenging, and the selection of available mods remains limited (which will shift after the Forge update).
You can explore a variety of mods here:

There are a few useful ones, though many are low quality.
The launcher supports switching between different versions, even though they aren't in the same game universe. I can also create a new world using a more approachable version for modding purposes.
The latest update with Forge support is currently available. It's unclear what mods exist beyond 1.8, as I only use versions 1.7.10 and earlier. The newer releases have some issues for me. You can get Forge at the provided link: https://files.minecraftforge.net/maven/n....13.2.html. For modpack launchers, options like Technic Launcher, Void Launcher, Feed The Beast Launcher, and ATLauncher are recommended. There are likely many more available.
