I want to try some modded Minecraft, but it keeps showing big lag spikes whenever I play. They happen randomly or if I drop something. I have a screenshot of these spikes, but I can't play anymore. Also, the debug pie seems to be taken over by the "tick" feature. I don’t understand what that means.

Who is managing this? I suggest turning off other nonessential processes, making Minecraft the top priority over other issues, and verifying whether your RAM or HDD reaches full capacity during the spikes.

It's a server but I'm not the one running it. From the Minecraft screenshots, it seems Minecraft isn't using all the RAM I allocated. I have an SSD that performs well in read and write speeds, but I'll check if it reaches 100%.

It doesn't appear that any tasks are reaching their maximum levels in Task Manager.

The modified Minecraft experience isn't very refined, and it can challenge even the best systems. On such maps, water physics often lead to problems. Have you installed it via the Twitch launcher? Did you enable maximum RAM usage?

I use the Twitch launcher yes. I didn’t increase the RAM usage because it only uses 50% of the available memory, even though there’s 6GB allocated. This might explain why I’m having such issues with FPS drops. I’m not playing on a normal PC—this is SkyBlock. There’s nothing nearby except my island, so I’m really confused about these performance problems.

Is it a tailored modpack or a ready-made one like an FTB pack? Also, the server might be to blame for the lag; the machine could have memory, processing, or internet problems that raise latency and lead to these slowdowns for players.

I play SkyBlock and use Ozone and Fool craft, all of them suggest increasing the ram usage in the Twitch launcher. Skyblocks may affect textures, especially water and lava—try collecting them with a bucket to see if it helps. Also check for any water flowing from your island, as that can cause problems. Along with vines.

It's an FTB modpack, and I'm the sole player on the server facing lag issues. There are about four others currently online.
