I have an RTX 2060 and an i7 8700, but I only get around 80-100 fps in Minecraft with Optifine on them. I'm wondering if I should try upgrading since someone on YouTube showed me how to reach 800 fps with the same hardware.

You're seeing significantly higher FPS than expected, particularly with Optifine enabled. Your render distance is likely configured too high. Check if any shaders are active and consider adjusting other parameters such as particle effects or quality. Disabling background applications may also help improve performance.

My render distance is at 8 and I’m not using any shaders. I also reduced the settings, but it didn’t significantly change the outcome. Typically, during gameplay, there’s nothing running in the background.

Do you have any clients installed such as Lunar, Badlion, or PvPLounge?
