I recently updated my computer to improve my Minecraft modding experience, aiming for a smoother frame rate of 60-120 fps. My system includes an AMD Ryzen 3 2200G, a new graphics card, 8GB of DDR4 RAM on an Asus motherboard (PRIME B350M-E(AM4)), Radeon Vega 8 Graphics, and a 931GB Toshiba HDWD110 (SATA) drive that was previously used in another machine. However, I’m now experiencing difficulties running modded Minecraft, consistently encountering significant lag spikes that cause my frame rate to fluctuate wildly between 300 fps and just 1-4 fps. I’ve ensured sufficient RAM allocation (4GB) for Minecraft and can comfortably run other games like Fortnite. Despite utilizing OptiFine, achieving higher frame rates, and installing the Java 64-bit version – which I used successfully on my previous setup—Minecraft has become noticeably worse, even with the same mods. This issue occurs exclusively in a single-player world, and I’m puzzled by the sudden problems considering my older computer had weaker components but still managed to run Minecraft at lower frame rates.
Have you adjusted the visual settings, such as the viewing distance and block count? Perhaps consider reducing them.
Yes, I completely adjusted all the OptiFine configurations. I’m familiar with these settings because I previously utilized them on an older computer, studying tutorials on YouTube to determine the optimal configurations. It's simply another issue that I’m unable to resolve.
I believe I understand the problem. Minecraft typically requires 400MB of memory, and it’s already straining my system; with 1500MB needed alongside 80 modifications, it’s becoming excessively demanding. LOL
