I'm experiencing some problems and need a few old memories. I'm using Minecraft version 1.8.4. My FPS drops to around 45 even on the lowest settings. I don't know why my system is behaving this way. The specs I have are pretty high-end: an AMD FX 8320e overclocked to 4GHz at 19°C, an RX 480 with 8GB RAM, a CPU with 14GB of SSD and a 500GB WD drive plus a backup. I'm running games at 1920x1080p via HDMI and seeing over 100fps in titles like Soma. The power supply is a 650W CX series, and I'm using an MSI 970 Pro gaming setup.

Consider using Optifine. Also, reinstall the drivers. Have you tried the latest version 1.11.2?

I receive around 60 at low quality on the latest, and this is regarding my fifth driver reinstall with Crimson Relive. Optifine appears to have minimal impact.

Minecraft relies heavily on single-core speed, a challenge for AMD FX chips. Consider removing cores from the game.
