Hi, I considered switching from a B760 to a Z690/790 after choosing parts for my build. I’m unsure which one fits well without overspending. The MSI PRO Z790 S Wi-Fi seems like a good option, but I want to make sure it’s the right choice before deciding. Thanks!

For most other markets, I believe the top value board for LGA 1700 is the Z690 Force/Carbon (same platform, different design). When looking at Italian prices, that model isn’t particularly affordable—it falls short compared to alternatives, typically costing €200-250 instead of the €300-350 you’d expect. The Z790 S Pro remains a decent choice, though I’d prefer the Z690-A Pro for about €10 more. If you’re targeting high-end CPUs like 13900K/14700K/14900K, opt for a board with at least eight PCB layers; cheaper six-layer options can overheat with those powerful chips. In that case, the Z690 Force still appears to offer the best balance of performance and cost.
