Hello, I hope this makes sense. Microsoft plans to discontinue Windows 10 sales after January 31st, though they mention it may still be available from third-party sellers. Regarding downloading the installation package from their site after buying an ESD, that’s something you’d need to confirm directly with them.

Maybe if you're certain you need it, you could just get the Win 10 Media Creation Kit now. After that point, you should be able to make media, probably until the end of its support life.

If concerned about data loss, you can leverage it to create an ISO file using tools such as Rufus.

I believe Microsoft is unlikely to discontinue the Win10 Media Creation Tool until Windows 10 reaches its end-of-life, but for absolute confidence, always back up an ISO.

Yes, you can save or download the media creation tool and generate a bootable USB or ISO before purchasing the key. You don’t necessarily need the license upfront; it’s usually required only after you’ve downloaded the installer and completed the setup process.
