I like on the desktop. The new version finally works great with touch. I can now scroll through chat history text and contact list without making it think I want to move my contact item or select text. It took forever to get that ability. Still needs high DPI support, taught, which I am surprised it doesn't have yet. It feels like its the last Microsoft software that doesn't support it. There is an option to disable emoticons if you don't like them. If I had to say a complaint about the new one, is that I don't like the fact that you have 2 full rows taking "Home", and "Call Phone". I wish there was an option to remove it entirely, or at least put it on the same line. And I don't get the "" on the Skype title bar... it's like... thanks Legal Team. What's next on the title bar. "Skype® All right reserved 2014", and then the following version: "Skype® All right reserved 2015. Warning: This program is protected by copyright laws and international treaties. Unauthorized reproduction or distribution of this software or any portion...." all on the title bar.

I received the newest version, but it doesn't seem to offer much change overall—just resembles a Windows 8 style theme.

When I need to reach someone, I have to tap the "call" button and then choose between Skype or a phone. Reminder to MS: For calls to cellphones, I’ll use my own device! The interface is so dull it’s hard to say anything nice about it. Only someone who is blind could appreciate this plain and simple design. In the past, Ghostery would just hide new contacts, making everything look neat but too small. Now the empty space feels wasted. I’ve given up on things that aren’t worth it (in a game, of course)

People still choose Skype for its features and reliability. Teamspeak is just another chat tool, but it doesn’t offer the same functionality.

I'm not sure, but I'll try installing now. However, honestly, Skype needs an option to revert the interface, otherwise it seems like Microsoft is just following their usual pattern. Let's get this over with.

I'll look into it after I'm back. As far as I understand, Skype remains the same. I'm not sure about its mobile version. It doesn't come up often in my usage.
