I receive alerts from Windows security about a threat. Click the notification, go to "Virus & threat protection," select the threat, and choose remove. However, nothing occurs afterward. I clicked on "Clean threat" and "Quarantine," but the issue persists. The virus is named "Win32/Chir.gen!dam." It indicates the affected file is "F:\9a8be1d39478b8daefe45663fe1b0d66\UIU64a.exe." I don’t have a local disk available. Avast was tried, but uninstalling it slowed my device and it reappeared. I’m hoping this gets resolved soon before it’s too late. (I own a Lenovo laptop with Core i5 7th gen, Windows 10 64-bit.)

I prefer not to reinstall Windows; I've saved it as a final choice.

Run rkill first to ensure it's closed, then execute malwarebytes. It typically takes around 2MB.

The rkill tool only attempts to halt malware, it doesn't fully eliminate it.
