I believed Notch opposed large, impersonal corporations.

I just wish Mojang could bring this through; maybe Microsoft would then focus on making Minecraft even better.

Notch lost interest in his creation long back. His personal struggles and the overwhelming success of his work made him feel superior, which led to unrealistic expectations. Those who doubt him are mistaken since he’s consistently acted hypocritical. In reality, he tends to jump to conclusions and struggles with decisions. He recently married someone attracted mainly by his wealth, only for her to leave soon after. He mocked Oculus when it was bought by Facebook and grumbled about not supporting the game, despite no support being developed at all! His life roles have shifted, and as a person he’s changed too. It’s possible he’d prefer to step away from everything and move on, having enjoyed this journey for a long time. This situation is rare; such an opportunity isn’t common. I don’t care about Notch or Microsoft—I just want Minecraft to grow into something more meaningful. Right now, the game receives updates too slowly given its profitability. Many improvements could have been made already. Free modders have proven this point. Wasn’t the modding API nearly complete three years ago? Perhaps Microsoft prioritizes branding and licensing over quality. They could develop a proper sequel with solid code, something Notch’s team failed to do due to financial pressures.

If I'm truthful, Mojang isn't really focused on Minecraft anymore. They recently caused issues with Bukkit by taking control of their repositories and pushing away existing developers. That's disappointing. If Microsoft were to acquire Mojang, how many people would stay on the team? It's tough to say. Personally, I believe Minecraft is struggling and unless they release a huge update that significantly improves it, the game might just decline. Mojang mistreated the volunteers who built Bukkit, plugins, and mods, showing no regard for their efforts.

If Mojang isn't willing to pay two billion dollars, I'll accept it—I won't misuse it for harmful intentions... *laughs*

Minecraft faces a risk of losing its audience. The latest release no longer captures interest. As @MetalDevil noted, two billion dollars equates to something limitless.

It's fine with me; Minecraft and most of Mojang's titles are fading in popularity, perhaps Microsoft could try something more appealing.
