Hi. I had to re-install Windows 11. This time without having an account. I then re-installed Office 2021 from the MS website. When opening an xlsx file, it asks me to Sign in to activate the account. Does this mean I have to have an MS account now on my PC and log in with it?
I originally had an MS account years ago with a different email account and wanted to change the email address. I think I might have several accounts with different email addresses.
I don’t want to use a MS account on the PC itself to log into windows.
What I want to know, is it safe to go ahead and click continue to activate. This is a downloadable version of office not a 365 subscription. Is this seperate to a windows login account.

I believe you have the option to select the account during login for Office 2021, ensuring it is linked only to that specific Microsoft service. This approach has been my usual method unless there have been recent changes.
