I've checked microcenter for some components and noticed their CPUs are consistently discounted. Is this happening at other retailers too, or is it specific to Tustin, CA? For instance, both the Ryzen 5 3600 and 5600X are currently $50 off, and even the Ryzen 7 7700X is $120 off—this has been ongoing for three months.

This approach ensures that Microcenter, especially at our location, will always encourage you to purchase additional items beyond the CPU bundle—either through cashiers or sales representatives. The bundle serves as an incentive to visit the store and explore more than just the CPU package.
