Micro freeze screen with audio PC setup
Micro freeze screen with audio PC setup
I recently changed my processor from a 3700x to a 4500, because the 3700x died and I needed a cheap processor while I changed my complete configuration. Since changing processors, my PC has had micro freezes, both in games and audio. A bit like the video here: AMD fTPM Random Stuttering Example (Read Description) except that the cause isn't the tpm because I've tried without it and I still have the problem. As soon as the load on the PC increases a bit, it causes screen+audio freezes. Here's my config: X570-F (bios 4408) Ryzen 5 4500 Evga rtx 2070 xc ultra (546.01) 2x8Gb g.skill trident z Neo 3600Mhz SSD Nvme 970 SSD 860 I did try a few things, though: - RAM: memtest OK - reinstall windows - maj nvidia drivers - maj amd driver - tpm desactivation - clear cmos Nothing to solve the problem. If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear from you.
Consider adjusting the memory speed to 3200 MHz. These low-power processors often have restricted memory managers that can occasionally slow down your system. This change may not fix the problem but won’t damage your device and is simple to revert. You can locate the memory settings and specifications in the BIOS. Good luck!
This CPU represents a notable performance drop; it offers only a third of the PCI bandwidth compared to your 3700X, which explains the stuttering you're seeing. Fewer PCI-X lanes, transitioning from PCI 4.0 to 3.0 and cutting L3 cache by a quarter. Simple, efficient, and budget-friendly. (Pick just two.)
You're asking if you should continue using these micro freezes. Based on what you described, it seems they occur frequently—every few seconds in the video, often while playing greedy games. The issue worsens when you enable maximum GPU performance in the NVIDIA settings.
