I purchased Metro: Last Light during a Steam sale and thought, given my GTX 780, I could manage it since the game was released around the same time. The issue is that PhysX causes my FPS to drop to 15-20 even when everything else is optimized, and it spikes back up to about 60 with maximum settings. What’s happening with PhysX? Is it designed to significantly reduce performance? Did Nvidia consider this when developing the game? Thanks for your feedback.

Metro: Last Light appears to have problems with PhysX, possibly due to poor optimization. My 770 and Metro with PhysX turned on are struggling with FPS too. When I encountered the issue, I discovered many users with extreme fixes having the same problem. Just turn it off—you won’t miss much, and it’s clearly not worth the drop in frame rate.
