Metro 2033 Redux Display Problem
Metro 2033 Redux Display Problem
Hello,
I just reinstalled Metro 2033 Redux and Metro:Last Light Redux on Steam. After starting the games, I’m experiencing a significantly reduced and distorted image on my display. The maximum resolution available within the game settings is 1920x1440. My system specifications are as follows:
Intel Core i7-8700k running at 5.0 GHz
Nvidia GTX 1080
16 GB of RAM
Z730 motherboard
A 3840x2160 4K monitor.
I’ve attempted to manually adjust the resolution through user files, but this hasn't resolved the problem. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer.
Players have reported difficulties with resolution settings, including an inability to use their monitor’s native display, automatic resets to lower resolutions, or a limited maximum resolution compared to their screen's capabilities. This can occur when multiple monitors are connected or when playing on a television that doesn’t support higher resolutions. Potential fixes involve disconnecting additional monitors or adjusting the multi-monitor display mode in Windows to “Computer Only.”
One user successfully resolved an issue by reinstalling their Nvidia graphics drivers. The game was originally designed for 4K performance on the Xbox One X, and it is reasonable to expect similar functionality on PC. Even if native 4K isn't achievable, running at 4K Dynamic Super Resolution (DSR) through the NCP settings is a viable alternative.
Greetings, Monitor Enthusiast,
I evaluated each of your recommendations. My computer recognizes just one display, the one I’m currently connected. I removed and then installed the newest NVIDIA software, and I explored the scaling options you proposed, but there was no noticeable effect.
Selecting the 4th checkbox labeled “DSR Factor in NCP” should display a 3840 by 2160 resolution within the game. However, if this isn’t the case, the issue likely extends beyond just this particular title.
