Hello, Your issue involves Fractal Design Meshify 2. It performed well for several months before suddenly stopping. Now you can't power on your PC by pressing the case power button, and it only responds to the 'Start' key on your motherboard. The button makes a click but doesn't work. You're concerned about potential damage to your motherboard or other parts. Could anyone suggest possible causes or solutions for this problem? Thanks!

The power switch just connects a circuit to short the two pins on the motherboard. It seems unlikely to cause harm. Inspect the switch’s wiring for any damage that could block the connection, and verify if the internal mechanism is also making contact.

Notice the click and test a meter with the continuity function on the power switch pins. Press the button to see if it functions correctly. If not, the switch is likely faulty. In that situation, simply connect the power pins from the motherboard to the reset switch on the case and use it as a power source. For a more permanent fix, consider replacing the micro switch if it's damaged. A simpler alternative would be to install a momentary switch elsewhere on the case as your power switch.

Reach out to Fractal Designs—they should forward you a fresh front panel unit. I’m not sure about the Meshify case, but their cases tend to be quite easy to repair. I faced a problem with an older FD case a few years back, and they acted quickly by swapping out the front panel. They asked for my serial number and proof of purchase, which is typical. Apparently, they didn’t even charge me for shipping.

You can also purchase affordable power and reset buttons from Amazon and connect them to your 2 power pins on the MB. Then direct the button for easy access.
