Hi everyone, my mom is dealing with weak WiFi signal throughout her house. It's a big home built in the 1960s, and we've relied on WiFi repeaters for coverage. When we talk on WhatsApp, she often changes rooms, which likely causes problems because phones don't easily reconnect between repeaters. The router and repeater she uses come from her ISP (Sky), though I'm not sure they're top-notch. I'm wondering if setting up a mesh network would improve things. I'm staying home only for a week this Christmas and want to know what others have experienced with mesh systems—would it really help? Thanks in advance for your tips!

The plan looks solid! Could you share the budget details?

Thanks in advance! I'm considering a budget around 200 GBP (about 255 USD) or less. Previously, I used TP link repeaters which worked well. I see a triple pack (TP-LINK Deco X1500) available for 140 GBP at Currys in the UK, so that's something I'm drawn to. If I place the order while traveling, I could return it if improvements aren't made that week. My thoughts lean toward a mesh network instead of the current setup—maybe a wireless solution would be better. The only other option was powerline adapters, but the wiring is from the 80s and there aren't many outlets. I'm thinking phone calls and Netflix are what she uses most. So it seems like just two main ideas: powerline adapters or a mesh network replacement. Please share any feedback on these options or suggestions for alternatives, even if they exceed the budget. Thanks a lot!
