I have a R9 3900x with two 16GB dual side modules. The issue is that the RAM I got has a CAS latency of 19, but it runs at 20 in the BIOS. G.Skill Sniper X 3600 uses Hynix chips, and after testing with the Ryzen DRAM tool, it seems this memory can't be tuned. The stock latencies are 19, 20, 20, 40, while the tool suggests 16, 16, 19, 36. I tried applying the tool's timings but couldn’t boot. Since I have another system coming soon and want to upgrade my main rig, I’m considering switching to a 3600 MHz CAS 16 module or exploring alternatives. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

I adjusted the gear to down mode... The RAM seems okay at 3600, but the chips don’t meet the required quality for better timings. I believe starting with memory that offers superior timings will be more advantageous than attempting to fix weak components. Thanks for the advice—those sticks look good. I’ll add them to my wishlist. Once I can secure the 5900x and a B550 board for the 3900x, they should arrive together.

RAM prices fluctuate often. It's wise to verify later before making a decision, as a better deal might exist then.

That's the strategy. It's also why I ended up with the Sniper X. I didn't pay too much attention to the specs, thinking if I wasn't happy with it, I could upgrade to something quicker when moving from 3900x to 5900x.
