Memory test failures in RAM slots during diagnostics
They didn't collaborate previously, but if they just purchased recently, bring it back and ask for replacements if needed. It could involve components like the motherboard or even the RAM sticks, though it might be unclear unless tested on another system. Edited August 15, 2022 by Quackers101
I wouldn't immediately replace the CPU but keep it as a step in diagnosing the problem. It might help to try different RAM and see if the issue persists. If the new RAM functions, the original one is likely faulty. If swapping doesn't resolve it, the motherboard could be the problem. Troubleshooting can be challenging, especially with RAM, since many factors are involved—something @Quackers101 has discussed before.
It depends on your system. A single 16GB RAM stick is generally fine, especially if it passes both MemTest86 and Windows Memory Diagnostic. However, ensure the motherboard supports the amount and type of RAM you're installing.
Right now I’m in need of a functional PC for my job. Thinking about the expense of swapping out a motherboard and the worry of taking off the cooler and CPU makes me feel uneasy.
