I recently assembled my initial computer with a motherboard: Aorus X570 Elite, CPU: Ryzen 7 3800X, RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB (2x8GB) at 3600 MHz, GPU: XFX RX 5700 XT Thick Chip III, Ultra SSD, NVMe Gen 4, 500 GB, and a PSU from ThermalTake Toughpower Grand RGB. My concern is achieving the best memory performance. After configuring everything and restarting, I activated XMP settings which seemed to adjust BIOS parameters. Upon rebooting, the memory clock stayed near 2666 MHz despite the 1.35V supply. Windows showed stable SMP timings, but manually entering XMP values caused huge fluctuations—sometimes the system would post, reset, or crash. Given the investment in a high-end CPU and fast RAM, I want to realize the promised speed. Anyone have tips for boosting memory performance?
Which RAM slots are installed? If you have A1 and B1, consider using B2 for better compatibility as suggested by manufacturers. What data does xmp record in the BIOS?
Start with 3200MHz first, it might be more stable than 3600MHz.
Ryzen verified kits usually require 18-22-22-42 adjustments, so you might want to consider loosening it further.
It’s an odd scenario since this xmp profile isn’t compatible with the Mobo, yet it still boots? The Mobo should beep instead.
