I have four sticks of RAM, two of them are Corsair 16GB (made from two 8GB sticks) using DDR4 at 3600MHz with a low latency setting called CL18 and run through Vengeance RGB PRO for AMD computers. The other two sticks are also Corsair but only have 8GB each, so they make up the 16GB total. These second pair uses DDR4 running at 2400MHz with a lower latency of CL14 on Vengeance LPX and is an AMD Ryzen 5 processor from 2013 that comes stock in a box without any upgrades. The problem I am facing is that even though I try to speed up the memory past 3200mhz, my computer can only reach 2933mhz safely before it crashes and restarts itself several times, which resets all of my BIOS settings back to factory defaults. This is very confusing because my motherboard claims it supports going up to 3200mhz with overclocking. But if I even try to push the speed to 3000mhz or higher, everything breaks and won't work at all. I tried taking out the two older sticks that are only running at 2400mhz and putting in the new ones, but no matter what speed I choose, my computer stops working once it tries to go above 2933mhz.
Have you put the newest BIOS on your motherboard so that your system gets the newer AGESA number? It seems unlikely for a DDR4-2400 memory stick to run faster than 3000MHz.
You'd probably feel great getting 2933 MB of RAM when you have only 2400 MB installed, as if the extra space makes everything work better.

You probably have a CPU that's barely reaching 3200. Most of them sit right around 2933 because they just stay stable. Zen 2 is actually stronger, and I think it will keep improving as we get the 4000 series soon.
Zen 1 usually didn't reach 3200 MHz because Samsung used B-die technology for that time, which made their chips very popular and allowed them to hit higher speeds. The only RAM available was at those high clocks. Zen+ is a tiny bit better but I still wouldn't expect 3600 MHz there either. That speed might happen on the Zen 2 though. Honestly, most of the chips seem to have that same level of performance across the board if you remember correctly.
My guess about Zen+ usually hits around 3200, but sometimes it goes even higher. However, your specific CPU, motherboard, and memory chips might not do that. I've seen some folks clocking their Zen+ to 3600. I actually have a 2600x too, and my RAM is running at 3400, though it breaks if pushed past 3466. You could use the Dram Calculator for help with this. It took me several tries just to get a steady 3400 speed.
