Hey everyone, just bought two more RAM sticks and installed them on my motherboard. All four are identical, but I’m still having issues keeping them stable at 3200MHz. The PC stays stable at 3000MHz, but it turns off and on repeatedly until I hit the BIOS with a default 2400MHz speed. It’s stable around 3000MHz, but I’m curious if boosting the voltage to 1.35 from 1.4 could help. A 200MHz increase probably won’t make much of a difference, but I’m open to any advice. I also tested them separately to check if one was the culprit, and even with three sticks at 3200MHz it didn’t work well. My CPU is a Ryzen 5 5600 and the board is an ASUS Prime B450M-A II.

It seems the ASUS Prime B450M-A II will display the owner's manual soon here.

The instructions don't mention that combining both channels can lower the output. For instance, with an ASRock B450 using four sticks, it runs slower than in the A1/B1 setup according to the manual. Are you using the most recent BIOS version? Each release improves compatibility across different brands, particularly when mixing RAM modules from various ranges.

It mentions it handles up to 4400 MHz, but doesn't clarify the exact RAM capacity it supports.

i’m not sure how to look up my mobos bios, but i think i didn’t update any bios for the 5600. it looks like i got the same brand and model in the factory, even though i bought them separately. i make sure they’re all the same speed and latency.

Are you applying the DOCP/XMP preset or configuring timings yourself? The preset is designed specifically for running one stick at 3200mhz. Generally, you'd purchase a package with two or four sticks. Adjust the frequency manually to 3200mhz and set primary timings like 16-18-18-36 in BIOS. If that doesn't function, consider slightly increasing the voltage for the memory controller (if auto is enabled, it may adjust itself).

tbh when i try to pick docp it says 3200mhz doesn’t adjust my ram to that frequency even before i start 4sticks. It always sets 2400mhz, I don’t know why. Also, I have two docp profiles—one at 3200 and another at 3000—I usually pick 3200 and also set it manually to 3200mhz.

Shut down the PC, hold F2, restart it and it will enter ASUS BIOS. I’m a bit confused because the CPU might not be confirmed to run at 4400MHz—it could only be 3200MHz.

It seems the display differs from what you expect.

Alright, try setting this manually instead. Yes the kit comes with two profiles, and the profile will set sub timings aswell. Apart from being optimized for intel and not amd, it should work, but only guaranteed to work with one stick. Does it make sense? If you set the primary timings to 16-18-18-36 as well as manually setting voltage to 1.35v and 3200mhz, all other timings will be set by the motherboard.
