Memory performance drops to 2133MHz even at 3200MHz frequency
I just finished a new build with the following details: Mobo model B550 Mortar, CPU Ryzen 3600XT, GPU RTX 2060, RAM Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB at 3200MHz. Memory speed is fine but maxes out around 2133MHz. BIOS reads it correctly and claims support for 3200MHz. I set XMP profiles, enabled F7 advanced, adjusted settings manually, and reset CMOS. Despite these steps, nothing changes. I noticed in a previous post with screenshots that might help. Recently, someone suggested checking compatibility on the MSI MBO support page, but it doesn’t list my RAM. It seems the BIOS recognizes it but can’t exceed 21323MHz. I’m considering swapping it for a compatible unit before returning my old one, just to be sure. I’m seeking advice—my knowledge is limited and I want to avoid wasting time. Thanks in advance!
Reviewing the page, it mentions Gigabyte's "Extreme Memory Profile Support" setting that might need adjustment. It seems MSI may have a similar option, but could also point to a faulty stick. Test each RAM stick individually to confirm detection. While doing so, manually configure FCLK Frequency and timings to match the XMP profile requirements instead of relying on defaults. If you're not comfortable, consult the manual and search for guides specific to your BIOS.
Thanks for the update. The sticks look good and are being recognized correctly. Reflecting on this, going back into BIOS seems to indicate xmp1 isn't selected at all.
