Forum – I own an ASUS ROG Strix Z270H gaming board, an i7-6700K processor, and 2x8GB RAM rated at 3000MHz. Can I use the 3000MHz memory, or should I stick to 2133MHz due to motherboard or CPU limits?

Your memory's performance rating at 3000 MHz comes from an overclock profile stored in XMP. Using this profile will technically boost your memory speed, and since it's factory-verified, it should function as expected.

Z270 boards support RAM that isn't limited, 3000MHz is typical for such configurations.
