Memory management crashes during BSOD on a Trident Z5 DDR5 at 6000Mhz with an ASUS Z690 motherboard.
Looking around, I see someone testing Trident Z5 DDR5 RAM and an ASUS Formula Z690 board. XMP is active but the system eventually crashes with a memory management error. Long MEM386 tests show issues at 6000Mhz, though it works at 4000Mhz. I haven’t contacted ASUS or Trident yet since the PC runs well and I think the problem might be fixed in an upcoming BIOS update. Anyone else noticed similar issues? Any advice? -- OS: Windows 11 Pro GPU: RTX3080Ti RAM: CL40-40-40-76 1.30V CPU: i9 12900K
It seems you're experiencing issues with a CPU's memory controller that can't handle speeds above 6000MHz. Anything over 4800MHz is likely an overclock and may not function reliably. You might need to lower the frequency, which could allow you to fine-tune the settings and regain some performance.
What processor do you have? Can it be overclocked with a single stick? What are the clock speeds?
Check the Intel i9 12900K later this evening and observe. CL40-40-40-76 at 1.3V
It's not unusual at all. I recall Linus mentioned his 12900k wouldn't boot above 5200MHz. You could try boosting the voltage slightly to check for stability, as getting it to work might mean you're near the limit. Raising the voltage to around 1.35v could help, and it's definitely worth a try before you have to lower the frequency to achieve stability.
I'm experiencing the same issue with a DDR5 XPG Lancer, RGB, 16GB, 6000MHz, DDR5, CL40 and an ASUS ROG Strix B660.
Hello there! Got the same problem. Maybe I am missing something but my current setup is ASUS B660-F latest BIOS Core i9 12900F G.Skill Trident Z5 DDR5 6000MHz 32 GB 2x16GB CL36 Applied XMP profile I will cause ton of BSODs, default settings work ok with no problem. Have you managed to get a proper and improved config?
