I've updated my P6T deluxe v2 with an x5680 and a motherboard from the i7-930-x5680 series. After the CPU change, the board stopped accessing memory in slots C1 to C2. I tried CPU-Z which worked, and HWinfo also recognized them. I checked for bent pins but didn’t find any. What options do I have?

Clean the memory modules Remove the bottom part of the CPU Apply 99% IPA to the RAM ports and CPU connector occasionally when you leave it on a messy surface or somewhere dirty, then place it in your Giga X58A UHD3. Some slots may completely fail, but they show up in CPU-Z only as Task Manager can’t see them. This often leads to strange photos and screenshots. In one case, a 5x1 dual channel with 1GB was recognized at 2900MHz in Task Manager, though the board felt damaged. I had to soak it in water for deep cleaning. After that, wiping the CPU with 99% IPA helped, and the other slots worked again on the 950. The Giga board is average, with only modest performance—around 2600 max with two channels at 2DPC. It won’t reach over 2700 unless you manage a higher clock speed. Based on the CPU changes, just clean the RAM or try a different setup. X/E and Xeons have a 10x RAM multiplier, so don’t expect top speeds unless you adjust settings. The board is a sample unit, so you should still reach 2000–2200 depending on your clock, and it’s pretty easy to overclock the X58A given I’ve already hit 2800 with dual sticks at 2.1V.

Can’t confirm if my RAM is better yet, but I’ll attempt to clean the CPU. Hope that helps. Also, there’s a new CPU coming soon for backup.

In short, you repeatedly restarted it until it functioned properly.

I just relocated the computer and it now accepts it; the Chinese cooler likely wasn’t applying any force on the CPU.
