Me Andromeda triggers the complete system failure...
Hello, I'm facing problems with ME Andromeda. I was playing during EA access with a few minor crashes. After the game was released, I'm experiencing numerous issues—DirectX crashes, GPU overclocking turned off, but still getting crashes. The worst happen when the PC just freezes, closes without a window, or restarts. I'm worried about CPU overclocking failure and why it only happens on MEA while my PC handles stress tests and heavy encoding fine. This is really frustrating... What are your specs?
Click the game in the original location and choose repair to check if it resolves the issue.
If it only fails with the OC, your OC isn't strong enough. Reduce the intensity slightly. If it's not the OC, run DDU to fully reset the driver, then reinstall the newest version and attempt again. Also check validating the game files as suggested by @leelaa14.
It happened without using the GPU or GPU acceleration, running this OCR for a year now and hasn't run into similar problems with other games, so I suspect it's not related to the OCR. I attempted to fix the game, played for about 20 minutes then it crashed again, which hasn't been resolved. Mostly I deleted the files, cleared the cache, restarted and re-downloaded the full version to see if that helps. I won't try without my CPU acceleration since it passed all stress tests and works with any other apps I use. I’d rather get a refund than constantly changing my BIOS settings just to play. It should be fixed soon.
My experience suggests the shutdown seems linked to the CPU or power supply unit.
Considered this, why would the PC stop working during MEA instead of under stress with Aida 64 and Heaven running together? The PSU seems solid (Bequiet Dark Power Pro 10 550W, 80+ Gold). I plan to test tomorrow using a Corsair HX850 I have nearby. Still doubt it’s a power supply issue. My other machine has an Intel i5 4690K with 4.5GHz and 16GB RAM—though I don’t feel like opening both cases or swapping cards right now. I’ve been dealing with client problems all day, and doing this at home after work feels tedious.
