Hi everyone, the MCE setting on the 10900K was turned on recently. I read some videos suggesting it could send too much voltage. I also noticed that enabling it only raises my cores to 5.3 GHz when I’m just running one app. Once I open Steam Battle or Discord, all my programs shrink to icons and the boost disappears. The CPU seems to stay at 4.9 GHz even with multiple apps running. From what I understand, having MCE on shouldn’t really affect gaming performance, since games usually keep the CPU at around 4.9 GHz regardless of cores. My question is, does this setting actually make a difference when playing games? Why would the boost only appear when nothing is open?
