I'm working on a custom build featuring a B550 motherboard, equipped with a 4500 CPU and a 5700 XT GPU. The issue lies with the tower in Roseville D100 ATX case. It was purchased for my son's RGB setup, but he wasn't old enough to enjoy it, so I took it away and built him another PC. This is now my first decent gaming computer, and I haven't encountered such a problem before. Recently, after installing new fans that lacked lights, the system didn't power off properly—they required a hub from the case, which also came with it. The hub didn't work consistently, so I replaced them. Once everything was set up, I turned it on and used it normally. However, when I powered it off in Windows by pressing the power button, it restarted instead of shutting down. Later attempts to restart it still resulted in the same behavior. I then performed a hard power-off, tried using a different power cord, plugged it into another outlet, and even moved it to a well-lit area for observation. When reconnected with the original power cable, the PC failed to turn on. This led me to suspect the power supply unit (PSU) might be faulty. I'm unsure where to proceed since this has never been my experience before.
Yeah, I didn't mention the PSU either—it was a Corsair 650 gold. It had RM 650x written on the back. It came in a box for the same PSU as the 850, so I guess the seller wanted something more powerful. But I haven't had any issues since buying it about a year and a half ago, so this would be my first problem with it if that's true.
