Hello, the ASUS site mentions a maximum of 32GB RAM, but some users have reported success with higher capacities. Could you confirm if 64GB is achievable and what steps might be needed to enable it?

It's unlikely to succeed. The CPU only officially supports 32GB, and while it may function with more, locating compatible 16GB DDR3 RAM modules is challenging. Unless you already possess those modules, it's best to skip further investment, as the system is quite outdated and not worth the additional cost.

AFAIK it isn't. The issue is that you would need unbuffered 16GB DIMMs, and since I'm not aware of anyone who made 8Gb density memory ICs for DDR3 (what's needed to make unbuffered 16GB sticks) it's just not possible.

It exists. It's uncommon, but for the price you'd pay, it's actually more affordable to upgrade an entire platform.

Thanks for the details, everyone. It might be more cost-effective to upgrade the platform, which could also mean I’ll need to upgrade the cooler. I still have some research to do before planning the whole system, so it would help if you could assist with that.

They appear, yet the costs are outrageously high, making it seem absurd to pursue such an option. https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Technolo...4LITS?th=1 Choosing this path would save money by opting for 64GB DDR4, an AM4 board, and a Ryzen 5 5600X instead of purchasing four individual units.
