I've always purchased preassembled systems but recently constructed my first PC (great!). I'm using a Ryzen 5 9600X with two 16GB DDR5-6000 modules, an RTX 3070 8GB and a MSI Pro X870-P. I turned on Expo1 so my RAM operates at 6000MHz. I've already fine-tuned my GPU with Nvidia tools. Now I'm focusing on my CPU. I've never adjusted or modified any CPU settings before. I'm curious about the best ways to optimize and maximize its performance for gaming. I came across AMD's resources mentioning Ryzen Master and AMD Software Adrenalin edition.

Well, the simplest method to boost performance is to turn on PBO (Precision Boost Overdrive) and possibly adjust the voltage with the CO (Curve Optimizer). You can also speed up the CPU by changing the core clock manually. All these settings need to be configured in the BIOS, not via software such as Ryzen Master.

Great job on assembling your own setup! You can adjust PBO to match the motherboard limits at +200. Open Curve Optimizer and configure all cores to -30, then observe performance. You might need to lower it slightly to -25 or -20 for better results. Nice progress!

I'll check it out this evening—it's good to hear the software isn't always the best choice.

Great! I'll check the video and appreciate the guidance on which numbers to focus on initially. Noted that Bios has many settings to adjust, but I was hesitant to make changes I shouldn't.

Also, because the 9600X includes an integrated GPU... disable it in BIOS. It’s commonly labeled as PCIe enabled, Onboard VGA, or similar depending on the motherboard. This should release some reserved RAM. This should apply to your MSI board... or at least point you in the right direction. How To Enable Or Disable MSI Integrated Graphics - Tech News Today

Install chipset drivers if needed. For Ryzen, the simplest adjustment is turning on PBO. To further boost performance, consider using the Curve Optimizer to slightly lower the voltage.

Using Ryzen Master can cause system instability, crashes, or conflicts with other software. It may also lead to compatibility issues or data loss if not used carefully.
