I upgraded my i5-4690K to 4.5Ghz with the 212 Evo and ran it for a few hours without issues. During gaming sessions, especially in Battlefield 1, temperatures reached between 76°C and 78°C. With long gaming sessions, will these high temps affect the CPU over time? Am I safe?

These temperatures aren't bad, especially since bf1 can sometimes run at 100% CPU usage. However, it might be improved—what are your ambient temperatures? Did you increase the CPU voltage? If so, what are the specific voltages? I also have an overclocked 3570k with a temperature of 4.2 and never exceed 65°C even during full load or extended gaming sessions. I use the same cooler.

Those temperatures aren't bad, especially since bf1 can sometimes run at full CPU usage. However, it might be improved—what are your ambient temperatures? Did you increase the CPU voltage at all? If so, what values are they? I’ve overclocked my 3570k to 4.2 and have never exceeded 65°C even during extended gaming sessions. I also use the same cooler. Yes, I did the overclock from 3.5Ghz to 4.5Ghz, and those are the results I’ve seen. What are your ambient temperatures? Not entirely clear on that yet.

Those temperatures are reasonable given that bf1 can sometimes run at full CPU capacity. However, it might be improved. Could you share your ambient temperatures? Have you ever increased the CPU frequency? If so, what voltages are you using?

I’m running an overclocked 3570k at 4.2 and consistently stay below 65°C even during extended gaming sessions. I also use the same cooler.

Yes, I increased it from 3.5Ghz to 4.5Ghz, and those are the readings I’ve seen. What’s your room temperature? As long as it doesn’t exceed 80°C, you should be okay under load—throttling happens only around 105°C, which slows the CPU to manage heat and power consumption.

Those temperatures are decent, especially since BF1 can sometimes run at full CPU usage. However, it might be improved. Could you share your ambient temperatures? Have you ever overclocked your CPU? If so, what voltages are you using?

I’ve already overclocked my 3570k to 4.2 and have never exceeded 65°C even during extended gaming sessions. I’m using the same cooler as yours.

Yes, I increased my overclock from 3.5Ghz to 4.5Ghz and those are the results. What about your ambient temps? Not entirely clear yet.

Your internal case temperature is important. As long as it stays below 80°C, you should be okay under full load—throttling starts at around 105°C, which means the CPU will slow down to manage heat and power consumption.

Since it’s freezing in Ireland, I only have one fan blowing air into the case. I’m planning to get a set of three RGB fans after Christmas when I return from my holiday. Maybe I’ll add another fan to the cooler too. Also, if you have two fans on the CPU cooler, do they need to match or is it fine to use different models?

Everything looks good; as long as the fan size matches, it's fine. It would be better to purchase the same fan for the CPU cooler. Having a case fan for outtake is also a plus.
