Max safe voltage for CPU overclocking Ryzen 1700
Max safe voltage for CPU overclocking Ryzen 1700
Hi everyone, I understand this question is common, but I’m trying to introduce a unique approach. If everything works out, I plan to implement a custom cooling system using the Freon cooling method. My goal is to run my CPU at subzero temperatures and achieve higher clock speeds. Could you all share your advice on voltage settings below -5°C? Thanks in advance!
AMD advice: 1.35 is acceptable but 1.45 may affect processor life. However, some users have run at 1.475-1.5 for more than a year. Operating below ambient temperature could cause condensation issues, damaging the socket or motherboard before the processor deteriorates—this is clearly not a concern. People often test up to 1.7V at 5Ghz on first-gen chips in liquid nitrogen. Your choice should consider how well you can maintain CPU temperature with your phase-change system.
