You currently have a single stick of 4GB RAM with 1333Mhz speed. You're considering adding another stick to enable dual-channel 2x4GB (8GB) memory. Yes, the maximum RAM supported is typically 8GB.

It's possible the system could fit 16GB. 8GB DIMMs weren't available at the time many early DDR3 setups were tested, but I've tried a few unsupported platforms using 8GB modules and they functioned well.
