Not sure if this belongs in networking or gaming. Mods, please adjust accordingly. My dad always kept a firewall active. From my research, it looks like the firewall blocks certain keywords—like "kill." If you find any link containing "kill," it might also trigger it. Recently, he added "League of Legends" to the firewall, which prevents me from playing LOL. Is there a way around this? I understand using a proxy helps, but I can't afford fast ones for gaming. Are there any games you'd recommend as alternatives to LOL? Edit: Sorry, I accidentally posted twice due to a new forum feature.

He claims he doesn’t want me to play games, but I need to focus more on studying. It’s ironic since this year in high school was the least time I had for gaming. So maybe the answer is to study harder and improve my grades?

Plan a routine that balances gaming time with study commitments, homework loads, and grades. Keep things realistic—people tend to stay on track if they’re too. Parents can be tricky; when I was younger I had less freedom, but a more involved approach might have kept me in college longer. You’ll appreciate it later.

Purchase a router next, then connect your PC to it for gaming. Or install a Wi-Fi card to tap into public networks.

You can achieve some impressive results using SOCKS proxy services. This approach requires more effort and investment for optimal performance, but it’s feasible. The best solution is to negotiate with your dad about flexible hours or weekends when gaming is permitted.

If the person can execute this trick, they’ll realize you’ve broken through his barrier. It won’t look smooth—he’ll likely be surprised when he discovers it. Discuss it with him instead.
