I experienced a brief mouse lag after waking my HP Elitedesk 800 G3 from sleep—lasting roughly 2 to 5 seconds at random intervals between 1 and 3 seconds, though it functions normally otherwise. This issue appears only on certain USB ports, except for one front port where the mouse responds instantly after power-on. The problem seems tied to the USB Selective Suspend setting being disabled in the power plan. I’ve tried all ports with multiple mice, and the behavior persists even after restarts or reboots. It’s worth noting this was a used unit purchased on eBay; there were bent pins in the CPU socket, but after bending them back everything worked fine, making it less likely related to hardware defects. The processor is a Pentium G4560T.

It’s likely the USB controller firmware responds in 2 to 5 seconds after powering up. You might improve performance without changing hardware by using a different USB controller, such as a PCIe USB card, or by updating the operating system to better support the driver.
