Not a big fan of Arch, but I think it's the top choice for newcomers.

The issue isn't related to how much documentation exists or users' reading skills. It centers on Arch being quite manual and complicated, and relying solely on web instructions without understanding what you're doing often leads to mistakes. Honestly, most people don’t grasp the topic. Have you ever used Arch before? Specifically, when it's running on a dedicated hardware setup for extended periods? There’s broad agreement online that Ubuntu is the better starting point for learning Linux. This post was meant to highlight how confusing Arch can be if you're not familiar with it. I should note that I personally use base Arch on my main PC—not Manjaro, Arco, or Endeavour—and I’m not an Arch critic, but I do think it’s the superior option for serious Linux users.

ProtonUp is a Python tool that fetches the newest Proton GE release. It places the update in the compatibilitytools.d directory or lets you save it anywhere you choose via the provided link. Using it this way integrates the update into your project and eliminates the need for manual installation.

I used Arch for around two years as my initial distribution before moving to Gentoo Ubuntu because it became bloated, had a poor package manager, and included annoying apps like AppAmour. I've tried it multiple times, but it just isn't good. Arch-based distros are clearly the best way to learn Linux. Having a system that forces you to learn and experiment yourself is always the most effective approach.

This involves projection, and you might feel comfortable driving a supercar before getting your license. However, what benefits one person may not suit another. By the way, which world profile are you interested in? It looks like there isn’t a setting for cinnamon at all.
