Hello, thank you for reaching out. I'm excited about starting this new venture and balancing school with it. I own an old laptop and realized I needed a faster setup. After browsing Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace, I found two HP All In One 20-c020 units. They're not powerful models, but they’re a good starting point. Since I’ve never built a PC before, I’m a bit unsure about the technical details. I’ve watched some YouTube tutorials on adding RAM, which seems straightforward. Here are my questions:
1. If I purchase two 8 GB RAM sticks, can I install them separately—one in each machine? The specs say I can only upgrade to 8 GB total, and there’s only one slot per computer. Would buying them together save me some money, or is it better to buy them individually? Also, do they work well together?
2. Once the installation is done, what should I expect? Should I just turn on the machine and see how it performs? Do I need to adjust any settings or run specific software afterward?
1. Kits with several sticks are confirmed to function as a group—they don’t have to be placed together; you can separate them, and you can combine sticks from different kits* *conditions apply*
2. When the system fails to boot, reset the CMOS and restart it a few times if necessary
Are you from MADTV or the blind kung fu master? What is CMOS and how do you reset it?
