I recently verified my Windows update and noticed it isn't functioning properly. It displayed the error code 0x80070422. I attempted troubleshooting steps but didn't identify any issues. Trying to launch the service always results in it being disabled immediately. I searched extensively on the internet for solutions, yet the problem persists. It seems the service shuts down unexpectedly, stating 'the service has stopped because there isn't any devices.' This is causing difficulties with downloading apps and also showing error code 1058. Please assist me.

Check these resources for guidance. They might not have been fully explored, but they could still be useful.

Press Windows key + R, type services.msc, press Enter. Navigate to Windows Update and verify the Start type. If it shows 1058, it’s disabled. Right-click it, select Properties, and change the setting to Manual or Automatic.

I also attempted it, but it keeps disabling itself.

I haven't performed any system optimization or used tools for that before. If it reverts to deactivated, it might indicate a virus or software issue blocking Windows updates.

Attempted everything but it didn't work. I might need to reinstall Windows.

Encountered a comparable problem recently, and the manual updater helped restore automatic updates.
