Hey, I'm trying to understand what's happening with my setup. I installed an Asus Prime Z590-A i7 10700K with 32GB RAM and an RTX 4070 RTX 850X. Everything seems to be working fine at first—3DMark scores were great, updates helped, and launching Cyberpunk didn’t cause any BSODs. But now it’s all messed up. The PC crashes when I try to restart, even though it shuts down normally. I see some activity on the drive and a blue turquoise dot on the screen. Restarting doesn’t get me past the login screen. I can restore my Windows 11, but launching Cyberpunk still freezes. I’m worried about damaging my PC if I try to change settings or reinstall drivers. I’ve checked Device Manager, but it’s not showing any driver issues. I’m also confused because I think I found similar problems with new GPUs on Windows 11, but no one seems to know a fix. I’m scared and don’t want to risk my system if I mess things up. Any advice would be really helpful.

It seems to function without needing any intel drivers. Playing Cyberpunk with RTX and Ultra performed perfectly, with the GPU running at 55°C. The freezing issues occurred twice—once when opening Task Manager and again during the download of Cyberpunk, which was transferring from my main PC. Even then, the transfer continued despite the screen freezing. Still, it’s frustrating to keep experiencing this.

Sure, I got it. Everything works fine—just the screen freezes, but the system remains functional as usual.

Go back a few months with the NVIDIA driver. I recall another person facing problems with the present version. Open Windows in Safe Mode and employ DDU to remove the current driver, then restart back to normal and apply the previous driver.

Hey there, I’m back now. I tried Windows 10 again but the same problem persists. It’s not about the chipset drivers—it seems the NVIDIA drivers are the issue. I managed to play the game without crashes, but I still experience random freezes when logging in or clicking the desktop. On Windows 10, I can’t install older drivers like I thought the 4070 is recent enough. It doesn’t recognize them properly, leaving me stuck with a PC that won’t work with the right driver. I’ve seen several error and warning messages in Event Viewer, like “DxgKrnl Winlogon in sessions 2 reuqested session stop using GPU” and “STATUS_SUCCESS with progress stage of successful.” It’s strange I never noticed this before. There’s also a warning about the Desktop Window Manager exiting, showing the GPU-related status. What should I do next? Should I consider returning the card or is this probably a software problem?

Here’s a revised version of your message:

I’m sending another update about the 531.58 issue again. It keeps crashing when I run a 3DMark test, and after that it freezes. Once it crashes, I see the same blue dot in the top-left corner of my screen, but Windows says it’s logged in. I can hear it. Now I just installed my GTX 1070 without doing a DDU, and it’s working fine as expected. The 4070 should need a return to the manufacturer.

I'm facing the same issue again. My thought was it was related to the riser cable. But once I installed the GPU directly on the motherboard, it functioned properly for about an hour and a half. After that, the PC would freeze, and I could only perform a hard reset. Once reset, it kept freezing repeatedly. If I used my old GPU (1660 Super) on the PC, it worked without problems, even with the riser cable or directly connected. I've tested this for three days, so I'm confident it's working correctly. I've updated to fresh Windows 11 and installed new drivers for the GPU. It seems the only solution might be replacing the card altogether.
