Hi. I have two programs for overclocking MSI afterburner and Catalyst on my AMD R9 280 Overclock Edition. I'm really frustrated because my overclocking sometimes works with one but not the other, and sometimes it ignores my commands completely. Right now I'm overclocked, but the game clock speed stays normal. If I restart the computer, it might work or not, depending on how the GPU feels. I've looked for similar threads but haven't found anything. My issue is that my overclocking programs don't always properly boost my GPU speed. Anyone have any advice?

Overclocking has its boundaries. If your system becomes unstable at the settings you've chosen, you've surpassed the card's capabilities—it's as if you're asking it to act like a Corvette in a minivan; sometimes it simply won't work.

Overclocking also depends on chance. Certain cards may succeed while others may not.

i restarted computer runing game with overcloocking setings now next morning i might have to restart again once or not.. overclocked edition gpu did overcloock it and is 68c max.
