I've just switched from AM4 to AM5 CPUs (thanks to Newegg BF sales), which meant a completely new motherboard and processor. I'm using a Ryzen 7 7800X3D based on GN reviews and snagged a solid discount. A challenge I face is maintaining the CPU's temperature with my EVGA 3080. I switched to a Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX card, but it seems the case fans aren't activating properly, especially since the "System1" temp sensor isn't triggering cooling. The chassis stays around 25-26°C even when under load, so fans barely turn on. I've adjusted some BIOS fan curves using CPU temps, but they don't consider GPU load. Since I mostly play at 1440P and the GPU gets heavy, I need the case fans to keep up cooling despite minimal ambient changes. Any advice on managing fan speeds when sensors give little feedback? Your PCPartpicker list looks helpful! -Grey

Configured to prioritize CPU usage now. Fan curve settings are customizable—feel free to tweak them while gaming or under different workloads.

The GPU temperature is being monitored at various points, and the case air temperature is measured using a standard air temperature sensor placed inside the enclosure.

Download FanControl, configure a mixer with separate curves for GPU and CPU, place them in the mixer, and ensure fans favor the higher curve.

It seems the "System1" temperature sensor is present on the board but only detects small changes—around 1 or 2 degrees—typically between 25-27°C. It doesn’t reliably reflect heavy loads since my CPU can jump to about 70°C during intense tasks up to 84°C. Currently, I link the case fan settings to CPU temperatures, which helps, but I don’t anticipate the CPU increasing when there’s a visually demanding application running. In games like Heaven, GPU temps stay near 70°C, dropping into the low 70s after extended play sessions.

It sounds like you're considering a situation where the CPU handles high temperatures. Let me know if you'd like more details!

I'm focusing on my GPU as well, worried about any visual strain or heat issues that might affect performance. The fans aren't responding properly, and I want to ensure everything runs smoothly. Appreciate your advice!

70c for a GPU works well. However, if you're concerned, make sure you've enabled VSync to reduce the frame rate and prevent it from running too intensely.
