I'm feeling a bit drained, possibly skipped some research or missed the right terms. I just installed a 3800x system and noticed this tonight when reviewing thermals after signing up for folding @home. One of my cores is running much faster than the other. At stock settings with a standard profile, even pushing to 4.4 at 1.35 c08, it still lags around 82°C or lower with temperatures near 85°C.
It could be due to thermal throttling, suggesting uneven application of the thermal compound.
