Your friend’s MacBook Pro is showing frequent memory warnings in the app memory message, yet the system reports low usage. This suggests the warning might not reflect real-time demand but rather background processes or cached data. To identify the culprit, try disabling startup apps or using tools like Activity Monitor with a more detailed view. If the issue persists, updating macOS and checking for known bugs in the M1 chip could help resolve it.

They might consider refreshing their system from time to time, but it’s not wise to lag behind by four versions. Apple usually releases security patches for the three latest versions.

Could you confirm if the drive is busy? Otherwise, this message might not appear. Also, make sure the computer is up to date.

It seems the issue might be due to insufficient storage; often the operating system begins utilizing the disk as memory once RAM becomes scarce.

I suggested she make the change. She seems to avoid updating, possibly due to a pattern. The drive still offers 100GB free space, so the problem likely isn’t there.
