MacOS preventing automatic power-off when battery is low
Hello, fellow forum members. I’m trying to figure out how to stop my MacBook Pro from ejecting the microSD card when it’s on sleep or low battery. The issue is that even though the card appears inside, it gets removed automatically. I’m wondering if there’s a way to make the system treat it as a permanent component so it doesn’t eject it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Avoid letting the battery run completely empty, as this can harm it. When your laptop is idle, plug it in to keep it charged.
You must constantly insert the SD card for stability and safety. What are you actually doing on it that causes damage if it’s not properly secured? It appears there’s an issue needing a better approach—probably the OS will automatically remove the card during hibernation or low battery to prevent data loss. If the card becomes dirty and the computer runs out of power before it can save, you risk losing all information. This is the system’s protective behavior. There might be ways to keep it mounted, but it’s best to avoid this situation. I recommend checking online for solutions. Edited May 3, 2018 by Wild Penquin
